Shares of Golden Star Resources Ltd. (GSS) surged in Yesterday’s Trading
Shares of Golden Star Resources Ltd. (AMEX: GSS), an international gold mining and exploration company producing gold in Ghana, surged in Wednesday’s trading session.
The penny stock of GSS ended the day 12.2% higher at $1.01.
Golden Star this week commented on recent marketing activity of its shares. GSS shares have seen huge trading volumes in the last few days. The company said that the surge in trading volume has been due to the announcement made on May 17, 2012.
On May 17, GSS announced that it entered into certain definitive agreements to purchase a total of $74.5 million of principal outstanding under its 4% convertible senior unsecured debentures due November 30, 2012 by way of privately negotiated transactions with certain holders of original debentures.
