Shares of IEC Electronics Corp. (IEC) Skyrockets in Today’s Trading Session
Shares of IEC Electronics Corp. (AMEX: IEC), a provider of electronic contract manufacturing services (EMS) to advanced technology companies, are soaring in today’s trading.
At last check, the small-cap stock of IEC was trading 26.47% higher at $6.02, with volume up from daily average of 13,499 to 295,865.
IEC Electronics shares are soaring after the company announced its results for its fiscal second quarter ended March 30, 2012. IEC reported second-quarter revenue of $38.02 million. The company’s net income for the quarter was $2.60 million, or $0.26 per share. For the same period last year, IEC had reported revenue of $35.08 million and net income of $1.74 million, or $0.17 per share.
W. Barry Gilbert, Chairman and CEO of IEC Electronics, said that this was an excellent quarter with meaningful improvements across all of IEC’s important financial metrics.
